Non technical founders: do your homework
Before attempting to recruit a techie co-founder to get your project off the ground, you must do your homework.

There is a lot you can and must do. Doing your homework will grow the value of the startup, give you leverage over other future co-founders when you come to the negotiation table and show potential partners that you are a doer and not a talker.

Some things you should do before even attempting to get a techie cofounder: a business plan, market research, product/service definition, valuable structured feedback, surveys, growth strategy, etc.

There is a direct relationship between the quality of your homework and the quality of your future technical cofounder.
